Translation vendors
HealthLiteracyCopilot and your translation vendor
A translation vendor gives you a correct translation, at scale. HealthLiteracyCopilot checks if the Spanish is easy to read, with Spanish tests. It sends risky parts to a person. It keeps a signed record for each reviewed translation. Your vendor can work inside it, with its own reviewer accounts.

What they do well
Accurate translation at scale, by trained linguists.
The difference
Translated isn't the same as readable. We measure the Spanish in Spanish.
Side by side
| Job | Translation vendors | What HealthLiteracyCopilot adds | Using both |
|---|---|---|---|
| The translation itself | Accurate translation at scale, by trained linguists. | Scores the English source first, so it is clear before it goes to translation. | Send your vendor clearer English. |
| Is the Spanish easy to read? | A correct translation of the source. | Spanish scored with SOL, an INFLESZ floor and Fernández-Huerta. | Your linguists translate. The Spanish score shows if readers can follow it. |
| Risky segments | Review by trained linguists. | A clinical anchor gate: a segment that could lose a dose, a date or a "do not" goes to a person. | Flagged segments go to your vendor’s reviewer. |
| Release and record | Delivery of the translated files. | A release block for unreviewed machine drafts of key documents, and a signed record. | Your vendor’s reviewer signs off. The record stays with the document. |
| File exchange | Their own tools and translation memory. | XLIFF exchange and translation memory. | Exchange files by XLIFF. Give your vendor’s linguists reviewer accounts. |
