How many reviewer hours do your documents take each year?
Enter your own numbers. The result is a buyer estimate, not a promise. Your numbers stay in this tab: they are not sent, saved or added to the page address.
Your result
- Annual reviewer hours Reviewer effort to measure during an evaluation
- —
- Annual reviewer cost context Buyer estimate
- —
Fill in all four to see your estimate.
How this is calculated
- Annual reviewer hours = documents/year × review cycles/document × reviewer hours/cycle
- Annual reviewer cost context = annual reviewer hours × fully loaded cost/hour
- Example: 400 × 3 × 2 = 2,400 hours/year; 2,400 × $95 = $228,000/year
Source: your inputs. This is arithmetic cost context, not projected savings. An evaluation must measure which effort can change and whether it actually changes.

How the estimate works
Enter numbers you already track. The calculator multiplies them and shows each step with your numbers. It is cost context for an evaluation, not a savings promise.
Numbers you enter
- Documents per year
- Review cycles per document
- Reviewer hours per cycle
- Fully loaded cost per hour
What you get, labelled

The formula is printed under the result. Your numbers stay in this tab.
Documents per year
Letters, notices, handouts or lay summaries that go through review. Your review tracker or content calendar usually has the count.
Review cycles per document
How many rounds a draft goes through before it is approved. Count each full round of comments.
Reviewer hours per cycle
Time all reviewers spend on one round, added together.
Fully loaded cost per hour
Salary plus benefits and overhead, per hour. Finance often has a standard rate you can use.
Questions
Is this a savings estimate?
No. It is arithmetic on your own inputs: the effort and cost your documents take today. An evaluation measures which part of that effort can change, and whether it does.
Are my numbers sent anywhere?
No. The calculation runs in your browser. Your numbers are not sent to us, not saved, and not added to the page address.
How do I share my numbers?
Download the CSV or print the page, then send it yourself. "Copy a shareable resource link" copies the page address only, without your numbers.
