How this is calculated

  • Contact pool = members × notice-related contacts per 1,000 ÷ 1,000 × cost per contact
  • Review pool = templates × review cycles a year × reviewer hours per cycle × loaded rate
  • Appeal pool = denial notices × share appealed × cost per appeal
  • Break-even = annual program cost ÷ cost per contact (rounded up; hypothetical)
  • The pools are separate and are never added together.
  • Example: 250,000 × 120 ÷ 1,000 × $8.01 = $240,300/year; 180 × 3 × 4 × $85 = $183,600/year; a hypothetical $50,000 ÷ $8.01 = 6,243 contacts
